Transparent parts often have higher requirements on the location and form of the gate, because the location of the gate will directly affect the appearance and mechanical properties of the product. When designing, it is necessary to consider how to minimize the trace of the gate, and sometimes it is even necessary to adopt hot runner or fine gate technology to reduce the trace. At the same time, a reasonable arrangement of the gate can effectively avoid the production of defects such as fusion lines and air bubbles.
The design of the release angle is also a crucial part. In order to ensure that transparent parts can be smoothly released from the mold without scratching, the mold design must take into account sufficient release angles. This requires detailed calculations based on the geometric characteristics of the different parts and the shrinkage properties of the plastic material.
During the mold design process, special attention should also be paid to the setup of the exhaust system. Transparent parts in the molding process if the presence of gas can not be discharged in a timely manner, the formation of bubbles or silver lines, seriously affecting the product's light transmission and appearance. Therefore, the reasonable layout of the exhaust slot and the use of exhaust pins and other tools is crucial.
