CNC Machining High Feed Secrets Revealed
CNC machining high feed refers to the CNC machining process where the tool is fed to the workpiece at a faster rate to increase productivity and reduce production time. High feed is an important means of efficient CNC machining, which can significantly improve cutting efficiency and reduce production costs. However, the use of high feed is not unlimited, its scope of application needs to be based on specific materials, tools and machine performance and other factors.
1. The applicability of high feed is closely related to the nature of the material being machined. For higher hardness, toughness of the material, such as cemented carbide, stainless steel, etc., because of its cutting resistance, cutting heat, so it is not suitable for high feed for CNC machining, otherwise it is easy to lead to excessive tool wear, affecting the quality of machining. For some lower hardness, toughness of the material, such as aluminum alloy, copper, etc., because of its cutting resistance is small, less cutting heat, so it is more suitable for the use of high feed for machining, in order to improve productivity.
2. The impact of tools can not be ignored. For high hardness, high strength tools, such as carbide tools, ceramic tools, etc., because of its good wear resistance, impact resistance, so more suitable for high-feed machining. For some lower hardness, lower strength tools, such as high-speed steel tools, etc., because of its poor wear resistance, impact resistance is weak, so it is not suitable for high-feed machining.
3. The performance of the machine tool is also an important factor in determining the scope of application of high feed. For high-performance CNC machine tools, due to its good rigidity, high precision, fast dynamic response, so it can adapt to high-feed machining. For some poor performance CNC machine tools, due to its rigidity, low precision, slow dynamic response, so it is not suitable for high-feed machining.
4. CNC machining conditions and process requirements also need to be considered. In the roughing stage, you can usually use a high feed for rapid removal of the residue to improve productivity. While in the finishing stage, in order to ensure the quality of machining, usually need to reduce the feed to reduce the impact of cutting force and cutting heat on the workpiece.
CNC machining high feed range of application is mainly affected by the nature of the material, tool performance, machine tool performance, as well as processing conditions and process requirements and other factors. In practice, the need for comprehensive consideration of the specific circumstances, a reasonable choice of feed, in order to achieve the double goal of improving productivity and ensuring the quality of machining.
