Auxiliary switches of circuit breakers: the invisible hand that guards power safety
In the huge family of power system, circuit breaker plays the role of an indispensable guardian. It not only protects the safety of the power grid, but also guarantees the smooth progress of our daily life. In the guardian of the back, is a series of sophisticated and complex auxiliary switches, they are like the guardian of the assistant, although inconspicuous, but vital. Auxiliary switch, as the name suggests, is used to assist the main switch to complete a specific function of the switching device. In the circuit breaker, auxiliary switch is mainly divided into several categories:
1. Position indicating switches: the function of these switches is to indicate the opening and closing status of the circuit breaker. They are connected to the main contacts of the circuit breaker through a mechanical linkage, and when the main contacts are actuated, the position indicating switch will change its state accordingly, thus providing intuitive status information to the operator. Like a guiding light, they allow the operator to recognize the direction in the dark.
2. Control circuit switches: they are part of the circuit breaker control system and are used to control the closing and disconnecting of circuit breakers. Control circuit switches come into play when a circuit breaker needs to be operated remotely or controlled automatically. They are like conductors, precisely directing each opening and closing.
3. Interlock switches: These switches are used to ensure the sequence and safety of circuit breaker operations. They prevent incorrect operation, such as closing the circuit breaker without disconnecting the power supply, thus avoiding potential hazards. Interlock switches act as a safety gate to ensure that every step of the operation is safe and correct.
4. Signaling Switches: Signaling switches are used to send signals to the control system about the status of the circuit breaker, such as faults, alarms, etc. They are used to signal the status of the circuit breaker to the control system. Their presence enables the circuit breaker to send out timely warnings when it encounters abnormal conditions, just like an alert sentry, always monitoring the safety of the power grid.
5. Auxiliary contact switches: These switches provide additional contacts for controlling other devices in the circuit. They extend the functionality of the circuit breaker so that it can work better with other devices, like collaborators in a team working together to accomplish a task.
With these auxiliary switches working together, the circuit breaker becomes an efficient, intelligent and safe guardian of power. Although they are not directly involved in the on-off of the current like the main switch, their presence is indispensable. It is the silent contribution of these auxiliary switches that makes our power system more stable and our life safer.
