What are the different types of glue feeds for injection molding processing?
Injection molding processing is a common plastic manufacturing process that is widely used in various industrial fields. In this process, the way of glue feeding is an important part, which will directly affect the quality of the finished product and production efficiency.
The following are a few common types of glue feeding methods:
1. Direct gate feeding: This is one of the most basic and commonly used feeding methods. The molten plastic passes through a channel directly into the mold cavity. This kind of inletting method is simple and low cost, but because there is a flow distance before the plastic enters the mold, it is easy to cause uneven pressure, which affects the quality of the product. 2.
2. Side gate inlet: This method is to set one or more gates on the side of the mold, so that the plastic can enter the mold from the side. This way can reduce the distance of plastic flow, improve the filling efficiency, but will increase the complexity of the mold.
3. Spot Gating: Spot gating is a smaller type of gate usually used for small or thin-walled products. Due to the small size of the gate, the waste of plastic can be reduced and the post-processing of the product can also be minimized. However, this method requires higher injection pressure and more precise control.
4. Submersible feed: In this method, plastic is injected into the mold through a submersible gate. The design of the door allows the plastic to form a closed cavity inside the door before entering the mold through a small hole at the bottom of the door. This method can effectively reduce the generation of air bubbles and improve the denseness of the product.
5. Hot runner feeding: This method uses a device called a hot runner system, which can be heated to keep the plastic always in a molten state during the injection process, thus avoiding the need to cool and heat up the time for each injection, and greatly improving production efficiency. However, the equipment of hot runner system costs more and is suitable for mass production.
These are several common injection molding process into the glue way, each way has its advantages and disadvantages, need to be based on specific product characteristics and production needs to choose. In practice, it is also necessary to take into account the physical properties of the plastic, the structure of the mold, the parameters of the injection machine and other factors, through continuous testing and optimization, in order to find the most suitable way to feed the glue, the production of high-quality products.
The injection molding process is a complex and critical link, which involves the knowledge of material science, fluid mechanics, mechanical design and other fields. Therefore, engineers with in-depth understanding of injection molding processing can better master this link and improve product quality and production efficiency.
