What should I do if there are white spots in the injection moulding process?

In the injection moulding process, white spots are a common quality problem. The so-called "white spots" are white or light-white dot defects on the surface of the products, which are usually very small, with a diameter of less than 0.1mm. So, facing such a problem, how should we deal with it?

We need to understand the causes of white spots. White spots in the injection moulding process, mainly due to the raw material contains water, volatile components in the high temperature evaporation of gas can not be discharged in a timely manner, and in the mould cooling and curing process is closed in the internal products, the formation of the so-called "white spots". Therefore, the key to solve the problem of white spots lies in how to effectively discharge these gases.

For the treatment method of white spots in injection moulding processing, we can take the following ways:

1. Optimise mould design: By improving the design of the mould exhaust system and increasing the exhaust capacity of the mould, the generation of white spots can be effectively reduced. For example, we can increase the exhaust slot of the mould, or adopt multi-stage exhaust, so that the gas can be discharged more effectively.

2. Adjustment of injection moulding process: By adjusting the parameters of injection moulding process such as temperature, pressure and time, we can change the physical state of the raw material, so as to change its flow characteristics and exhaust capacity in the mould. For example, we can appropriately increase the melting temperature, increase the injection speed, reduce the cooling time and so on.

3. Use dry raw material: If the moisture content in the raw material is too high, it is one of the main causes of white spots. Therefore, we can use dry raw materials, or preheat the raw material to reduce its moisture content, so as to reduce the production of white spots.

4. Use degassing agent: degassing agent is a material that can adsorb gases and effectively remove volatile components from raw materials. In the injection moulding process, we can mix the degasser with the raw material and then inject it, which can effectively reduce the white spots.
