What are the common hot stamping parts in automobile manufacturing?
In modern automobile manufacturing, hot stamping technology is widely used in the production of body parts in order to improve the structural strength, safety and fuel economy of the body. This technology heats metal materials to a certain temperature and then presses them into shape, resulting in parts with ultra-high strength. Next, some common hot stamping parts in automobile manufacturing are discussed in depth.
1. Door jambs. Door impact beams are an important part of the passive safety system of automobiles, which can play a role in absorbing and dispersing the impact force in a side impact to protect the passengers inside the car from injuries. Due to its critical role in safety performance, hot stamping technology is often used to produce this part to ensure higher strength and rigidity. 2.
2. Roof rails. Roof rails are important support elements in the body structure that not only help maintain the overall rigidity of the body, but also provide additional protection in the event of a rollover accident. Because of the large loads they are required to carry, roof rails are usually produced using hot stamping techniques to increase the hardness and tensile strength of the material.
3. The B-pillar, the center pillar of the sidewall, is an extremely critical load-bearing part of the body structure. In a frontal or side impact, the B-pillar can effectively prevent deformation and protect the passenger compartment from intrusion. Due to the importance of its load-bearing, hot stamping process is often applied to the manufacture of B-pillar, so that it has ultra-high strength and good toughness.
4. Threshold beams. Sill beams are also one of the typical parts for hot stamping process. Threshold beams are located at the bottom of the vehicle and are connected to the floor of the body, playing a role in reinforcing the bottom of the body and enhancing the rigidity of the whole vehicle. In a frontal collision, the strengthened door sill beam can better resist the impact force and reduce the injury in the passenger area.
5. Front and rear bumper skeletons of the vehicle. These components play the role of the first line of defense in low-speed collisions and can effectively reduce the impact on the main body structure. Through the hot stamping process, the bumper frames can achieve sufficient hardness and elasticity to cope with minor collisions in daily driving.
6. Body floor structural parts. As the foundation of the whole car body, the strength of the floor is directly related to the carrying capacity of the whole car and the safety of passengers. Through hot stamping, the strength of the body floor is greatly improved, which helps maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment in the event of a collision.
